Mirage floors are offered
in the most popular species.
Each one has its own typical grain, color and streaking. The choice of
species for your hardwood floor depends mostly on the effect you want to
obtain combined with your personal taste. Because of the processes used
in manufacturing and finishing the strips, there is basically no
significant difference in the durability and resistance between the
species. |

Besides offering all
natural colors, Mirage offers you a selection of colors based on the
latest interior decorating trends. The choice of color depends mostly on
the effect you want to obtain combined with your own personal taste.
Coloring has no effect on neither the quality of the wood nor its
finish. However, it should be noted that wood will return to its
original color if it is ever sanded again.

The choice of the strip
widths depends on the visual effect desired. Although you can create
different designs depending on the direction the strips are installed,
it may be advantageous to use narrower strips when installing flooring
in a room subject to extreme fluctuations in humidity. The natural
movement of the wood will therefore be spread over a greater number of
joints.
Mirage Classic comes in
the following widths:
-
2" (51 mm)
-
2 1/4" (57 mm)*
-
2 1/2 " (64 mm)*
-
3 1/4" (83 mm)

The grade indicates a
classification of strips established according to variations in the
natural coloring.
It is important to know that the grade refers to the visual aspect
only and has absolutely no bearing on the quality. In fact, strips
coming from the same original piece of wood and manufactured with
the same care, according to the same quality standards, can be
graded differently at the end of the line, solely because of their
appearance. |
|
|
|
Select & Better Grade :
Selection of the uniform strips with more subtle natural variations
in the color.
Exclusive Grade :
A mixed selection of strips composed of approximately 75% Select &
Better grade and 25% Traditional grade.
-

color, shows character of the wood
-
combination of Select
& Better (approx. 75%) and Traditional (approx. 25%)
Traditional
Grade :
Selection of strips with more distinctive natural color variations
that include small sound knots, to produce a more rustic appearance.
-

Two finishes are available, Satin and
Semi-gloss, according to individual preferences and also according to
the use the floor will be put to. It is important to understand that the
lower the luster in a finish, the less future marks will be visible.
In either case, Mirage strips benefit from the superiority of the ALUMIX
Finishing System featuring an aluminum oxide compound suspended in
ultraviolet cured polyurethane. This finish is 5 to 10 times more
resistant to wear than competitive finishes.
